Description of the location

COSTA CALIDA, IN TRANSLATION THAT MEANS "HOT BEACH", WAS ONE OF THE SETTLEMENTS OF THE KARFAGENOS, THERE CALLED "NEW CITY.

Thanks to the rich history of ancient Roman times and beyond, impressive architecture has been preserved in the main tourist areas of the Costa Cálida. In general, the entire Costa Cálida is a paradise for families, a place where you can take a break from the bustle of metropolitan areas and the frenetic pace of modern life. The climate of the Costa Cálida is very mild. The sun shines here 320 days a year. The lack of industry and a highly developed agriculture provide clean air full of flower and fruit aromas.

The presence of the Small Sea definitely makes the Costa Cálida a health center on the Spanish coast. There are mud baths, health centers and spas, due to the high content of iodine, salts and minerals, the waters of the Little Sea are famous for their medicinal properties, so those who want to improve their health should also come here.

La Manga del Mar Menor: the complex is literally built around a natural lagoon, formed by a tongue of sand. There are no strong waves here, the water is always several degrees higher than in the Mediterranean Sea. All of this creates ideal conditions for families with young children.
Puerto de Mazarrone - 35 kilometers of cozy beaches and coves - the resort attracts snorkelers and divers due to its crystal clear waters.
The coast is also famous for its gastronomic characteristics, which is why there are a number of good restaurants here where you can sample traditional Mediterranean cuisine.
In addition to the beautiful beaches, this coastline is home to several historical architectural centers, thanks to which the staggered historical development of this equally interesting region can be traced.

Murcia is the capital of the province of the same name. This city is located 30 km from the Costa Cálida and 75 km from Alicante.
The Cathedral (Catedral de Murcia) is the main attraction of Murcia, which is traditionally the center of the old town. This magnificent structure was built for almost four hundred years, so if you look closely at the architectural design of the cathedral, you can see various stylistic eras of that time, from Gothic to Baroque. Another of the most popular and visited historical sites is the Salsillo Museum, which was inaugurated in honor of the genius sculptor. Here are collected the brilliant works of the master, which appeared in the 18th century.
During the Middle Ages, numerous fortifications were raised in Murcia, a living memory of that time is the Monteagudo castle located on top of the hill. The first fortification in its place was built more than a thousand years ago.
Moving away from historical buildings, Murcia has the Terra Natura natural park, a walk through which the traveler can fully appreciate the diversity of the local flora and fauna. The reserve has a small zoo, which is distinguished by an interesting design of enclosures. There is a water park nearby, so at any time visitors can get out of the tropical bush and go try a variety of water attractions in action.
There is another interesting aquarium in the city, which is worth visiting with children: the CIMAR Sea Interpretation Center. Distinguished by its original design, this aquarium was opened on a beautiful yacht. During the excursion, visitors are informed about the more unusual marine life, as well as how pearls are formed and how they are mined.

The city is also famous for its traditional town and its national holidays. In fact, this is a very vivid sight, as the locals start preparing for all the holidays in advance.

• Carnaval de Águilas (Carnavales de Águilas) - February.
• Carthaginians and Romans (Carthaginian and Roman Festivities) is celebrated in Cartagena from September 17 to 23. The party is dedicated to events related to the history of the city. Hannibal (Carthaginians) founds, and Scipio (Romans) took the city by storm.
