Location
Description of the location
The famous Spanish region of Costa Calida is located on the Mediterranean coast. The length of the coastline of this resort is 250 kilometers. Costa Calida has a special untouched beauty. To the south you will find golden beaches and rocky shores, and to the north you will find the marvel of nature, the Mar Menor. This is a unique natural lagoon, separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a narrow sandy spit La - Manga - Mar - Menor. Although the name "Costa Calida" is translated from Spanish as "hot coast", the climate here is quite comfortable for living, not very hot in summer and not very cold in winter. That is why residents of countries such as Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, England prefer to buy real estate here.
Torre Pacheco is a municipality in the region of Murcia with more than 30,000 inhabitants according to government statistics. Since the end of the 20th century, Torre Pacheco entered a period of great modernization, starting to build luxury housing, and thus betting on attracting a large number of tourists with high solvency to the city. For new urbanizations, an infrastructure was specially created from prestigious bungalows and individual houses, which included not only the usual service, consisting of restaurants and supermarkets, but also, the main "highlight" - golf courses, since recently this sport has become very popular and has a great success not only among professionals, but also among "amateurs".
This is an ideal country village (with its own architecture and history) to live with the family, away from the noisy city, congested traffic, etc. This is a quiet and cozy place where there is everything for a comfortable life. Torre Pacheco is part of the youngest, at the moment, education - Los Alcazares.
Los Alcazares is a small, comfortable and cozy resort town on the Costa Calida, located on the shores of the Mar Menor Lagoon. The population is approximately 15.674 inhabitants. The city attracts connoisseurs of measured rest away from noisy crowds and is especially good for families with children and elderly relatives.
The coast of Los Alcazares is famous for its fine golden sand. Since the city is distant from the Mediterranean Sea by the La Manga arm, the water here is very quiet and warm, there are no strong waves, and the coastline is quite wide. But you can also swim from the side of the Mediterranean Sea - the water there will be a couple of degrees cooler, but you will discover many active water activities: surfing, diving, fishing, etc. Among the popular beaches of the city, well equipped: with playgrounds for children, bars, cafes and restaurants serving gourmet Mediterranean cuisine - Paseo del Espejo, Las Palmeras, Passeo Carrión, Los Narejos, Paseo de Manzanares and others.
However, this city is famous not only for its beaches and sea activities. 20 km from the city is the city of Cartagena, rich in its history and architecture, which is also known for its shipyards and maritime museums. Also near Los Alcazares there are several stunningly beautiful nature reserves of volcanic origin, where you can admire panoramic views of the surroundings from the crater of an extinct volcano and visit Lake El Carmoli with its rare flora and fauna of the marshland.
Another historically rich region is the city of Murcia.
Murcia is the capital of the province of the same name. This city is located 30 km from the Costa Calida.
The Cathedral (Catedral de Murcia) is the main attraction of Murcia, which traditionally represents the center of the old part of the city. This magnificent building was built over almost four hundred years, so if you look closely at the architectural design of the cathedral, you can see different styles of those times - from Gothic to Baroque. Another of the most popular and visited historical places is the Salcillo Museum, which was opened in honor of the brilliant sculptor. Here are collected the brilliant works of the master, which appeared in the 18th century.
During the Middle Ages, many fortifications were erected in Murcia. A vivid reminder of those times is the castle of Monteagudo located on a hilltop. The very first fortification in its place was built over a thousand years ago.
Moving away from historical buildings, Murcia has a natural reserve “Terra Natura”, a walk through which will allow travelers to fully appreciate the diversity of local flora and fauna. A small zoo has been opened in the reserve, which is distinguished by an interesting design of enclosures. Nearby is a water park, so at any time visitors can leave the tropical thickets and go to try out a variety of water attractions.
There is another interesting aquarium in the city that is worth visiting with children - "Centro de Interpretacion del Mar CIMAR". It has an original design, this aquarium was opened in a beautiful yacht. During the tour, visitors are told about the most unusual marine life, as well as how pearls are formed and how they are mined.
